a post without pictures.....

I havent posted like this in a while and thought it was about time for a real update on our family of 4.
So Sailor is 2 1/2 now...well in a few days. And she is a ball of fire. She is finally going to bed easily, but still gets up in the night and gets in bed with us. We sleep just fine with her in our bed. Sailor is eating the best she has ever since she was drinking formula haha She will clear her plate just about every time....veggies are still a fight so i hide them in all kinds of things =)
Sailor is very into a tv show called Doc McStuffins on Disney Jr. Its about a little girl who pretends to be a doctor to her toys. Well Sailor is now Dr. Sailor haha and LOVES to give everyone and everything a check up!!! Its pretty great, she knows what all the doctor tools are called and i think it might actually work in my favor for her 2 1/2 year check up in a few weeks.
As for potty training......well there isnt any yet. We bought the potty and we offer it all the time, but she just isnt interested in using it. I know that she knows when she has to go, because i watch her, but she still would rather have a diaper. Not sure if it has anything to do with having a little brother or not?? She is very intersted in going to pre-school and she knows she cant wear a diaper to school so maybe in the next few months we will make progress.
Sailor still has a pacifier....i wish she didnt but man she is attached to it. So we have made a plan. When we get back from our family vacation mid August she will only get a paci at nap and bedtime and then go from there.
Speaking of naptime.....its hit and miss. She totally NEEDS a nap still but getting her to take one is pretty impossible some days. The days she does take a nap she takes it on the couch haha Good thing she learned to sleep through Talon making noise =)
She is a smarty pants.....litterally haha This kid says some of the funniest things ever!! She is full of "one liners" and cracks us up every day. But she is also a smart little girl. She sings songs all day long, mostly her ABC's. She knows the colors, shapes, animals,   and numbers. She tries to teach Talon these things too.....pretty cute.

Talon is just about 14 months now.....wow that was fast!!! He is such a sweet little boy. He loves to give hugs, kisses and be held. I love it but man does he weigh a ton!!!
Talon is sleeping great!!!! In bed at 8pm and wakes up at 7am......only took him 11 months to start that haha. He sleeps great shearing a room with his sister, even when she gets up he stays sleeping.
Talon is a eating machine. He has 12 teeth now so chewing is fun now. He has 4 of his molars which have been a long process and painful. He is very cranky about it and much more clingy to mommy. But i undrstand.....getting new teeth is the worse.
He loves to play in the playroom and follow what big sister is doing. They play really well together.
As for his talking, he really isnt haha He says mama, dada, bye bye, hi & hot. He tries to say some words like dog "da" and sissy "si". Other then that he talks like scooby doo haha He doesnt stop "talking" but no one can understand him haha Its pretty cute to hear him.
Talon is such a "boy"!!! He loves to be outside getting into the dirt and climbing things. Speaking of climbing....he has learned how to climb onto the couch and can now almost climb over the baby gates!!! There is no stopping him now. He loves to hold something in his hand, like a broom or a golf club. Its so fun to watch him.
Talon still has his paci, but is much better about it then Sailor. His paci is pretty cute. Its a soothie with a stuffed animal on the end. He loves it. He still has bottles, but only at nap and bedtime. We are thinking that when we get home from our vacation we might try to stop the bottle. We'll see??

As for Erik & I......i dont think i have ever done a blog post about us.
We just had our 4 year wedding anniversary in June, which marked 7 years together. Erik has been working randomly this year.....totally different then its been in the last years. It has its pros and cons. Pro: he is home WAY more!!! Con: less money. Pro: more flexable. Con: random schedule. I think i actually like it better when he is on a TV show and i know his schedule every week, but oh well thats show bizz haha
I am doing the exact same.....oh the life of a stay at home mom & wife =) I love it, but doesnt leave much to post about. I will have more time to enjoy stuff next year when Sailor is in pre-school. Right now i am cleaning, doing laundry & dishes every single day. Once she is at school those 2 days a week i might get a small break....we'll see??
We have been house hunting for a few months now and its a very long and slow process. We have made 3 offers and lost them all to people with a cash offer.....who has that much cash!!!!??? But we know our home is out there somewhere and we will find it. Just hope we find it before Christmas.
This October Erik will be the bestman in his friends wedding. So we will be in a hotel on the beach for 2 days....woohoo!!! Thank you in advance amma, papa & auntie for babysitting.
Erik & I might get a night off in November to celebrate my 30th birthday.....just dinner and oh i dont know maybe something out on the town haha  It will also be Erik's 34th birthday, but thats not that exciting hehe
I think that is all that is new around here.....

4th of July 2012

We celebrated 4th of July at my moms again this year. It is always a good time. Tons of food, family & friends. Plus there is a pool so bonus!!!
The weather was great, and the pool was awesome too......Sailor was in there the whole day i think. Even Talon enjoyed himself. We later did a few sparklers and then some fountains in the front yard while we waited for the big firework show from the high school to start.
It couldnt have been a better holiday!!
