No more bumpers

We had to take Sailor's crib bumpers off yesterday!!!!
It all started at about 3am 2 nights ago. I heard her making noise and looked at the monitor (thank goodness we have a video monitor) and to my surprise little miss Sailor had her foot over the side of her crib!!!! She isnt tall enough just yet to get her whole leg over but she was using her bumpers to get that extra inch or two!!! I was in shock that she was doing this. I woke Erik up and showed him, he couldnt believe it either. We both thought we had a few more months before this would start happening, but i guess not.
Well taking the bumpers off is making bedtime a hard time for everyone. She moves around so much that she keeps hitting her head on the crib rails and it keeps her awake. Also with no bumpers her pacifiers fall on to the floor now, this is a major problem!!!!
We are looking into a bumper alternative and i think i found 2 options (one is better then the other i think but i cant find it in stock).

{nap time with no bumpers}

Corn on the cob

Sailor has been eating all her meals at the table with us in her new "big girl" chair. She is doing so great at it too. She actually stays seated for the whole meal now and doesnt try to get out of her seat. The other night Erik was home early so we got to have a real family dinner.....which almost never happens during the week!!! It was so nice to have all 3 of us sitting down for dinner together.
Sailor had her first corn on the cob and couldnt have been more happy about it!!! She is gonna love summer dinners outside on the patio with her corn, i cant wait either!!!

Kids room....in progress

I have been working on the kids room since we moved in to our new house almost 2 months ago, and it is almost finished. I am so happy with the way it is turning out. It was much harder then i expected to find things and prints that were both boy & girl and not to much of one or the other. The fabric i picked i just love and my mom sewed the curtains over the weekend, they look amazing!!! We put the dresser together and i painted some wall shelves. All that is missing is a light and some small wall decor.....oh and i guess a baby =)
The dark wood of the baby's furniture and the white of Sailor's go so well together with all the color that is in the room now. I also bought 2 small storage ottomans in bright blue and bright green, they look great and Sailor loves to climb up on them so she can sit in her window seat.

Only 2 weeks until my due date.....but baby boy might come early, fingers crossed!!! Cant wait to meet him xoxo

Such a big helper

I just had to share that Sailor has been such a big helper these days. After i change her clothes she takes her dirty clothes and puts them in the hamper. She also puts her dirty diapers next to the diaper genie (she doesnt know how to open it) and if there is a wrapper from a snack she ate sitting out she will take it and put it in the trash. She did this yesterday and came back and was clapping so i asked her what she did and she took my hand and brought me to the trash can and opened it to show me the wrapper.
I just love her!!!!

The wind chime and new shoes

Grandma Kathi bought me a wind chime for our back yard for Mother's Day and Sailor just loves it!!! She is getting so tall (32 inches) that she can reach the very bottom of it. She thinks it so funny to try to reach it.
Also Sailor's feet have finally made their way into a size 5 shoe!!!! Thank goodness since she already had several pairs of adorable summer shoes just waiting for her. Today she wore her slip on vans that Auntie Sarah got her for her 1st birthday. She thought they were so exciting and kept showing me and pointing to them. I bought her some new sandals today at Target too....so many more options now that she is in a size 5!!! Yeah!!!

New Chair

We received the Stokke Chair that i got from the talk show i sat in on. Sailor loves it!!!! Its not exactly a high chair since it doesnt have a try, so she eats her meals at the table now and is loving it. I tell her "Are you ready for lunch?? Lets get in your big girl chair" and she goes right over to it. She is eating so good with a fork too.....never misses!!! She is such a big girl now.

Sprinklers

Last week it was really hot again, this week raining and cold....go figure!!! Well last week while it was hot i bought a super cheap little sprinkler to attach to the hose for Sailor to play in. She loved it!!! I am so happy we have a yard now!!!! Thank you Erik for making that possible for us, we love you xoxo

37 weeks

I am just about 37 weeks and that means that our baby boy is full term!!! I had a doctor visit this morning and she said that everything looks good. The baby is doing good and im doing good too.....gained 3lbs since last check up haha That puts me at 20lbs total weight gain!!!
With the mild cramping that i am having and being 3 weeks away from my due date the doctor told me that it really could be any day!!!
We are just about ready for him too. Grandma Kathi bought us the new crib and it is built and in the bedroom all ready for him. I have washed all the newborn clothes, blankets & towels. Also we are getting the finishing touches to the kids room done this weekend. Grandma Kathi is coming over to sew the curtains and we will be buying a dresser too. I cant wait to have the room finished, i am totally nesting hahaha
I think i will pack the hospital bags this weekend too and get the car seat out of the garage and washed......just in case.
Only time will tell, but i am SO ready for this baby to be here and for me to not be pregnant anymore!!!

New stroller

We are so excited for our new stroller to be delivered!!! We just ordered it yesterday and it is already on its way. Should be here by Wednesday of next week.....it cant come soon enough.
We love this stroller for many reasons.....

  • it can be either a double stroller or a single
  • the kids can either face forward, towards me, or face each other
  • the seats have a really big canopy
  • i can push both a toddler and a newborn in his infant seat
  • it will stay with us for many years and grow as we (the kids) do
Thank you grandma Jodi for yet another wonderful stroller xoxo

Sailor testing out the baby stuff

We have been getting the baby stuff out and Sailor thinks its for her. She is loving the new swing {thank you "The Talk"}, the bouncy seat & bath tub.....cant wait to see what she does when we put the crib together.

15 month check up

Today was Sailor's 15 month doctor visit. From the second we got out of the car she was holding on to me so slight, poor thing. Once we got into the waiting room and she saw the fish paintings on the wall she was better. We played for a few minutes until they called her name, then the tears started. Sailor hates going to the doctor, she even hates going to my doctor appointments. They weighed and measured her first and that went better then most visits, but she still cried the whole time.
I was very prepared with lots of Sailor's favorites this time hoping that it would make the visit easier on everyone. We started with her kitty, then her blanket, then crayons and finally a lolly pop. They all did help, but nothing kept her from crying.
Once the doctor came in the fun really started!!! Sailor got all checked out and then she got 2 shots =( Those are never fun for her or for mommy.
The doctor says she looks great!!! Healthy and happy...well not happy at the moment. He said she is tall and skinny like her parents haha
He asked about her speech and said as long as she is saying mama, dada and 2 other words she is right on track. Well she is saying those 4 words and many more so we are above average haha =)
